Firsthorses – a program for first responders
BraveHearts offers healing horsemanship (therapeutic riding, foundation horsemanship, and Equine-Assisted Psychotherapy) at no cost to First Responders, which is defined as Fire Rescue, EMT, and Law Enforcement. First Responders can receive services 1 time per week, as schedule allows. This program partners first responders with horses and a riding instructor to provide opportunities to grow horsemanship skills, while promoting recreation and leisure.
FirstHorses Responder Participation Eligibility list:
- Current or retired First Responder (Fire Rescue, EMT, and Law Enforcement only).
- May participate in one 1- hour lesson per week, or as schedule permits and as funding allows.
- Family members do NOT qualify to participate.
- Make-up sessions will NOT be provided in the event of a participant or BraveHearts’ cancellation.
