March with Us
One Year Later: How COVID impacted BraveHearts and how you can help us March into a brighter tomorrow!
None of us could have imagined what 2020 would hold and how we would learn to adapt and overcome. At BraveHearts, we were fortunate to reopen our doors quickly after receiving dispensation from the Governor to continue services. We were committed to continuing support for our community, launching virtual programming within 48 hours of initially being closed.
Take a look at our monthly giving options! Even a small gift of $15 a month makes a HUGE impact at our full time, year-round miracle farms! It is our goal by March 31st to have 100 donors join us to become a BraveHearts recurring donor.
We have been blessed with donors, like you, who have stepped up to commit to helping us get through a most devastating year for the individuals we serve. We were successful in innovating early on to create a full suite of virtual programs to meet our mission. We also created a series of virtual events to raise visibility and funds. We managed an operationally intensive organization in the face of significant and everchanging restrictions. Our programs, whether in person or online, kept moving forward serving 1,071 participants in 22,248 equine sessions.
Our team has been most dedicated to ensuring the safety of our community by implementing several Phases of reopening as we consulted with our Board of Directors along the way. One year later, we continue to implement services with many safety precautions in place. We are hopeful our restrictions will continue to lift and our world will heal.
We hope that you consider becoming a reoccurring donor to support our community on a monthly basis for our mission. At BraveHearts no gift is too small.
Here are some examples:
For $15 a month – (that’s $180 a year) we feed approximately 580 bags of grain a year. The average 50lb bag of feed costs $20. Approximately $15 also covers 2 bales of hay. $15 covers hydration stations for participants and volunteers in the water coolers each week. $15 also roughly covers general disinfecting/cleaning supplies each day at one farm.
For $25 a month – (that’s $300 a year) your contribution will help with our need for endless shavings to keep our horses bedded in stalls. We get our loads by the semi. $25 covers a week worth of shavings per horse. $25 covers one week worth of PPE for masks and gloves at our farms. $25 covers one week worth of printing ink at our farms necessary for new paperwork and progress notes. $25 fuels up a tractor or gator to feed horses and take out manure. $25 covers one week of postage to send outreach and paperwork to incoming veterans and participants.
For $50 a month – (that’s $600 a year). Our herd requires over 100 trims by the farrier each year. The average trim costs $50 a year. $50 covers one day of lights on at our farm. $50 covers one week worth of human first aid equipment. $50 covers one supplement for a horse which many of our herds needs. $50 covers one set of equine vaccinations. $50 covers one month per computer for software and protection.
It is our goal by March 31st to have 100 donors commit to becoming a BraveHearts recurring donor. We hope you have felt our commitment to our shared community and know how critical our mission of healing horsemanship is today.
Thank you for your heartfelt consideration.
